The Oaks, which is located mostly in Chapel Hill with a small part in Durham, is a quiet community with beautiful, luxury homes. The Chapel Hill Country Club is situated at the center, which is the only private club and golf course located in Chapel Hill.
The homes in The Oaks are set on wide streets perfect for walking, jogging, and biking. Many homes are on the golf course, but the majority of them are on lovely winding streets and cul-de-sacs. The homes were first built in the 1970s and are still being constructed today. The neighborhood offers beautifully designed homes with a variety of architectural styles, sizes and price points.
The Chapel Hill Country Club was originally chartered in 1922 and has undergone a number of renovations over the years. The full-service, 18 hole golf course was originally designed in the 1970s by architect Gene Hamm, and redesigned in 1999 by John LaFoy, who has worked on Augusta National and many other courses. The tennis facility offers 10 HAR-TRU tennis courts and 4 newly reconstructed hard courts, and the resort-style pool contains a large water slide and a “splash zone”. Membership to the private club is not required for property owners in The Oaks.
Located along Route 54 as it enters Chapel Hill, The Oaks is very convenient to Research Triangle Park, The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and the UNC Hospital. Raliegh-Durham International Airport is approximately a 20 minute drive, and Duke University and downtown Durham are about 25 minutes away.
